Development Player League (DPL)
The Development Player League (DPL) operates as a key component of the Girls Academy (GA) ecosystem, offering high-level competition for elite female soccer players. Featuring teams in the U13 through U19 age groups, the DPL provides a platform for players to compete in high-level regional and national play while focusing on development, exposure, and college recruitment opportunities. The league serves as a critical step within the GA pathway, and emphasizes a player-first approach, ensuring each athlete receives the resources and support needed to reach their full potential.
OVERVIEW
The Development Player League is a proven platform for long-term development and advancement within the Girls Academy ecosystem. The DPL fosters a competitive, player-first environment which emphasizes growth, learning, and performance. With access to showcase events and a clearly defined pathway to GA, players gain visibility and opportunities based on merit. Sporting Oklahoma competes in the Midwest Conference of the DPL, which includes top clubs from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri. The league delivers a competitive schedule of conference play, as well as regional and national showcase events, all designed to support player growth and maximize exposure to recruitment opportunities.
TRAINING FORMAT
DPL participants ages U13-U19 will attend three training sessions per week, with one multi-team session each week dedicated to focusing on functional training, tactical concepts, and technical training.
FEE STRUCTURE
The Annual Player Fee below includes participation in the
Sporting Oklahoma Competitive Program (U11-U19)
and
Goalkeeping Program (U11-U19). The Annual Player Fee covers monthly training dues and other administrative expenses such as player registration and insurance. The Annual Player Fee
does not include each player’s proportionate share of team-specific expenses such as tournament and league fees, field maintenance and usage fees, and coach travel expenses for matches outside of the Oklahoma City Metro Area, nor does it include player-specific expenses such as kits, equipment, and travel.
